Professor Ehimwenma Sheena Omoregie, a seasoned biochemist from the University of Benin, has been elected as the new President of the Nigerian Society for Experimental Biology (NISEB).

Her emergence followed a tightly contested election held at the Southern Delta University, Ozoro, in Delta State. Renowned for her research into the healing potential of local medicinal plants, particularly in addressing inflammatory diseases and conditions related to protein energy malnutrition, Professor Omoregie brings a wealth of experience to her new role. At UNIBEN, she has served in various capacities, including as Chairman of the Post-UTME Committee in 2020 and currently as Director of TetFund Projects and the World Bank-NUC Centres of Excellence.
