The 17th edition of the Headies Awards kicked off on Sunday with a celebration of musical excellence across the continent. Among the standout winners was Tanzanian singer Juma Mkambala, popularly known as Juma Jux, who clinched the award for Best East African Artiste of the Year.
Juma Jux recently tied the knot with Priscilla Ojo, the daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo. Their glamorous wedding ceremony garnered widespread attention in Nigeria, further boosting his popularity among Nigerian music lovers.
The singer also graced the stage with powerful performances of his hit songs God’s Design and Ololufe Mi, captivating both the live audience and viewers at home.
This year’s ceremony marked the Headies’ return to Nigeria after being hosted in Atlanta, Georgia, for the past two editions. The awards continue to recognize and honor outstanding talents in the African music industry.
