President elect, Donald Trump has appoints Elon Musk as a leader of newly created Department of Government Efficiency (Doge).
Trump announced the appointment of Musk who will be working with former Republican presidential candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy on Tuesday evening.
A bio tech investor, Ramaswamy and Tesla founder, Musk are to work together to provide external advice to the White House on large scale structural reforms.
Musk who was a major donor to the campaign of Trump was tipped for the new department which acronym is similar to his favorite cryptocurrency, Dogecoin.
According to Trump, Doge is an initiative would help his administration dismantle Government Bureaucracy.
Doge, an unofficial Government department will help slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures and restructure Federal Agencies, Trump said.
Ceo of the social media platform, X, was hotly tipped for the role after recently calling for $2tn in cut to federal spending and elimination of overlapping federal agencies in the United States.
The agency will be focused on creating a more efficient U.S government that is accountable to the people and the pair will work together to liberate U.S economy, Trump added.
