A student from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has accused Stanley Dibia, popularly known as “UNIBEN Prince,” of attempted rape.

In a complaint report obtained exclusively by ACJ UNIBEN, the alleged victim, Lene Kehinde Janet, claimed that Dibia attempted to rape her on February 7, 2025, at around a few minutes past 6:00PM in his residence on Edo Street, Ekosodin.

According to the report, Janet stated that Dibia had invited her over under the pretext of discussing details regarding an orientation exercise for freshers in the Faculty of Arts.

“He asked me to come over to his place which I responded with a blatant “No” at first. But considering that I had earlier wanted to source information from him about an orientation I was to give to freshers about the faculty of Arts, I decided to call in his place with the mind that he had something reasonable to discuss regarding the issue,” she said.

However, she alleged that when she arrived, Dibia began making unwanted advances toward her. Despite her repeated refusals, he allegedly became aggressive, attempting to overpower her. She further claimed that when she tried to leave, he physically restrained her and even hit her.

The allegations have sparked controversy within the university community, with students demanding clarity on the incident.

As of the time of filing this report, Prince Stanley Dibia has yet to respond to requests by the ACJ UNIBEN for his comment.

The situation is still developing and will be updated momentarily.
