The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be having a face off with Benin Republic’s Cheetahs on Thursday, 15th November at Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny stadium in Cote Di’Voire.
This however is not the first meeting between these two sides as they both met previously during the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA world cup at the same venue where the Eagles lost to Benin Republic’s Cheetahs by two goals to one.
The Super Eagles are a single point short of acclaiming a spot in the AFCON cup of 2025. The Super Eagles of Nigeria need to win against the Cheetahs or draw to secure a spot in the 2025 AFCON set to take place in Morocco.
The two west African countries will meet in Abidjan, cote Di’ voire on Thursday. The Head coach of Nigeria’s national team, Austin Eguaveon took the time in building a squad that includes CAF’s player of the year Victor Osimhen and Ballon dior nominee Ademola lookman.
Benin Head Coach Genot Rohr has also been active in trying to get Benin some chances for success since losing the match might threaten Benin’s chances of participation in 2025 AFCON.
CAF has tasked Issa Sy, a Senegalese Official to Oversee the match between Nigerian and Benin which is said to take place on Thursday.
