In the latest rankings by Time Out, a global media company that publishes guides and magazines, Lagos has secured the 19th position globally, surpassing cities like Dubai and Miami. Time Out conducted a survey, considering factors such as food quality and affordability, culture, nightlife, community vibes, green space access, historic sites, and more.
Lagos, alongside Cape Town (2nd) and Accra (44th), stands as one of the few African cities on the list. Time Out’s assessment reflects the diverse offerings in Lagos, catering to various preferences. Posh Victoria Island, Lekki’s brunch scene, and Ikeja’s Kuti’s Bistro contribute to the city’s allure.
The report highlights attractions such as Oniru Beach and the dynamic nightlife at Hard Rock Cafe Lagos. The city’s expansion, illustrated by projects like Eko Atlantic City, adds to its appeal. Epe, located near Lekki Lagoon, is experiencing growth, notably with the renowned Oluwo Fish Market.
Lagos boasts impressive statistics, with a high standard of living – 96% of locals expressing happiness, 98% finding the city beautiful, and a 92% friendliness rating. The report encourages visitors to explore the evolving landscape of Lagos, capturing the essence of a city that continues to thrive.
