Real Madrid and Brazil playmaker Vinicius Jr was named the best men’s player of the year at the FIFA award ceremony held yesterday, 17th December 2024, in Doha, Qatar.

The Brazilian played a stellar role for Real Madrid in the 2023/2024 season, helping the Spanish side win its 15th UCL trophy and La Liga title, contributing 24 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, solidifying his role as an integral player within the squad.

Having lost the Ballon d’Or award to Manchester City’s Rodri a few months ago, this recent achievement comes as a triumphant comeback for the 24-year-old, clinching his first of the prestigious award.

The Real Madrid forward will now turn his attention to the International Cup final against Mexican outfit Pachuca at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar.
