The University of Benin has announced that the first semester examinations for the 2024/2025 academic session will officially commence on Monday, May 26, 2025. The examinations will begin with students in the Faculties of Education, Physical Sciences, and the School of Basic Medical Sciences.

In preparation, the Central Records Processing Unit (CRPU) has generated attendance registers for each department and academic level. These registers will be distributed to the Heads of Departments (HODs) on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Additionally, Deans and HODs are expected to collect examination materials starting on the same day.

According to a memo issued by the university, only students who have paid their school fees or applied for NELFUND, and have completed their registration for the 2024/2025 academic session, will be eligible to participate in the examinations. The university emphasized that registration is mandatory for all students due to the digital processing of academic records for the session.
