The University of Benin has announced the commencement of the second batch of bed space allocation for the 2022/2023 academic session. This allocation, done on the basis of “fastest finger,” commenced for the session on Tuesday, 26 September, 2023.

According to Professor Clement Atewe Ighodaro, the Dean of Students for the University of Benin, the second batch allocation is scheduled to open today, 28th of September 2023, at 3:00PM. He reiterated that any bed space allocated to any student must be cleared within two days, stating that failure to do so will result in the retrieval of the allocated bed space, so prompt action is essential.

In the midst of this struggle for hostel accommodation, the University administration would like to caution students about potential scammers. “Beware of scammers. Bed spaces are not for sale,” the Dean of Students Stated. The University follows a fair and transparent allocation process, and any attempt to sell or purchase bed spaces is regarded as fraudulent and will be prosecuted appropriately, as emphasised by the University, ACJ UNIBEN reports.
