The West African state of Ghana has recently been applauded for taking a significant step by declaring visa-free entry for citizens of neighbouring African states.
This initiative, as stated by President Nana Akufo-Addo, aims to foster “stronger ties across the African continental globe.”
According to reports, Ghana is set to become the fifth African nation to implement visa-free entry for other African nationals, joining Gambia, Benin, Rwanda, and Seychelles.
This move has been praised as a crucial step towards strengthening regional integration among African nations.
Furthermore, this policy is expected to address issues related to previous visa restrictions that impacted sectors such as tourism, trade, and travel.
Simply put, it is anticipated that these sectors will now experience growth, which has long been hindered by the country’s previous artificial border restrictions.
