The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced Wednesday, 12th June 2024, as Democracy Day, and hence it will be a public holiday for everyone.
The Minister of Interiors, Honourable Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the declaration on Tuesday, 11th June, alongside the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr Aishetu Gogo Ndayako.
Speaking on behalf of the Federal Government, Dr Tunji-Ojo advised Nigerians to “Reflect on the efforts of our founding fathers and ensure that Nigeria remains a united, secured, peaceful and indivisible entity”
