The management of the University of Benin has declared a lecture-free period from 10:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday, 1st February 2024.
This directive was contained in a memo signed by the University registrar on Wednesday, 31st January 2024. The lecture-free day was declared following a request by the institution’s Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Clement Ighodaro, aimed at facilitating a seamless inauguration exercise of the 2022/2023 Students’ Union Parliament and the Election of its Principal Officers.
ACJ UNIBEN reports that the inauguration and election exercise are slated to be held on Thursday, February 1st, 2024, at 10 am.
“Kindly note this development and disseminate it across the Faculties, Schools, and Institutes for necessary compliance as appropriate,” the communique read, emphasising the importance of spreading awareness about this development.
