The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced the commencement of admission into its Part-Time Degree, Diploma, and Certificate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session. Suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply.

According to the university management, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the institution to run a number of part-time programmes across different fields. These include B.A. International Studies and Diplomacy, B.A. Mass Communication, B.A. (Ed) Adult Education (Sandwich), B.Sc. (Ed) Guidance and Counselling (Sandwich), B.Sc. (Ed) Health Education (Sandwich), B.Sc. (Ed) Educational Management (Sandwich), B.Sc. (Ed) Business Education (Sandwich), B.Sc. Accounting, B.Sc. Banking and Finance, B.Sc. Industrial Physics, B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Statistics, B.Sc. Public Administration, B.Sc. Political Science, and B.Sc. Social Work. Also available are the Diploma and Certificate programmes in Early Child Health and Development.

The university noted that candidates must satisfy both the general admission requirements and the specific faculty requirements, which are available on the official UNIBEN website: www.uniben.edu. It further stressed that a valid JAMB Registration Number is mandatory for all applicants. While candidates may not be required to sit for an entrance examination, screening will be conducted based on O’Level, JUPEB, or Diploma results.

The application process will run from 7:00 a.m. on 1st September, 2025, until 12:00 midnight on 5th October, 2025. Interested candidates are required to first register as Part-Time candidates at any JAMB CBT Centre. With the JAMB Registration Number obtained, applicants are to proceed to the university’s website to complete the online registration. The procedure involves creating a system-generated ID and password, filling in personal details, and uploading a recent clear coloured passport photograph with a red background in JPEG format. The university emphasized that this passport will serve as the only valid form of identification throughout a candidate’s stay, and failure to upload it will lead to disqualification.

To complete the application, candidates must pay a non-refundable fee of ₦19,500 (Nineteen Thousand, Five Hundred Naira) through the Remita platform using an ATM-enabled Visa or MasterCard. Applicants are advised to preview and confirm all information before final submission, as submitted applications cannot be edited. Upon completion, candidates should print out their application slip.

The Registrar, Mr. Ademola A. Bobola (mnim, fcpm), warned that no application would be valid without a JAMB Registration Number. He also advised candidates to check their admission status online two weeks after the deadline for application.

The application portal closes on 5th October, 2025, and all applications must be submitted before the deadline.
