In a press release on Wednesday, 12th February 2025, by The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone B has hereby issued a 48 Hours Ultimatum to the management of the University of Benin, following the expiration of its previous 96-hour demand for reversal of the increased hostel maintenance fees.NANS also warned that further actions would take place if their demands were not met; the association also stated that the new ultimatum is in the best interest of union students.

The statement was signed by Comr Isaac Izojie Ogieva, the Zone B Coordinator of NANS. The association also expressed its Total discontentment with the university’s refusal to withdraw the charges to its previous rates.

“We are compelled to issue another ultimatum of 48 hours, after further which action will be taken in the best interest of the students of the University of Benin” ” the statement reads

NANS also reassured the students of Uniben of its commitment to their welfare and urged them to remain patient and keep faith as they worked on the situation.
