A former Governor of the Faculty of Life Science, University of Benin, Comr Badejo Christopher has been reported dead.
This shocking news was announced via a statement released by the Secretary-General of the Faculty, Comr. Eberechi Possible on Thursday, 9th June, 2022.
He stated, “Greetings greatest life science students, it’s with great pain in our hearts that we inform this association that the former governor Comr. Badejo Christopher has been confirmed dead, who went missing for some time ago according to his family.
“The faculty has lost yet again a comrade, friend, brother and words are not enough to express our grieve.
“Please note: The faculty will mourn the Lost of our dear friend Comr. Badejo Christopher as a family properly when school resumes after the ASUU strike is called off.
“MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.”
ACJ_UNIBEN learnt that Badejo had developed Kidney complications before his death which prompted the current Faculty Executives to set up a fund raiser for him earlier this year so as to enable him fly abroad for a kidney transplant. Sources say that due to unclear circumstances, the fund-raiser was cancelled and donations were refunded.
The news about Badejo’s death is coming roughly 3 weeks after reports of his disappearance and rumours of his demise were learnt of. It was gathered that his family simply said he had gone missing and they were looking for him as at Friday, 20th May, 2022.
The main cause and nature of the Ex-governor’s death still remains a mystery as efforts made by our correspondent to get more details proved abortive.
