The Dean’s Office, Faculty of Engineering, University of Benin, has issued a memorandum prohibiting final-year students from conducting signing-out ceremonies within the faculty premises.

In the notice, signed by the Faculty Officer, D. O. Itoje, and addressed to final-year students, the faculty emphasised that all activities related to the Final Year Brethren (FYB) signing-out ceremonies are strictly forbidden. Additionally, unauthorised gatherings or related activities within the faculty premises are also prohibited.

The memorandum warns that failure to comply with this directive will be regarded as misconduct and will attract severe disciplinary action against violators.

The directive has been circulated to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Assistant Dean, and the Chief Security Officer of the university.

This measure is intended to maintain order and decorum within the faculty as the academic session concludes.
