As the October 17th SUG election approaches, the Student Union Electoral Commission, in collaboration with Junior Chamber International (JCIN), is set to host the Student Union Presidential debate and manifesto presentation. This programme is scheduled for Wednesday, 16th October 2024, at Festus Iyayi Hall at 9 a.m. prompt.

The event will feature a host of distinguished personalities who will serve as judges for the debate session. They include Osakpolor Ogiemuda, PRO of the Young Pharmacist Group Edo State; Samuella Rukeme Emesome, former President of the Uniben Debate Society; and Hon. Abu Emmanuel, Deputy Minority Leader of the Edo State Youth Parliament.

The Presidential debate/manifesto provides an opportunity for aspirants for Student Union executive offices to share their vision, plans, ideas, and strategies for improving students’ welfare, enhancing the learning experience, and fostering a conducive academic environment. It also allows aspirants to explain how they intend to address challenges facing the student body, propose policies that will benefit the students, and support the university community.

Students are encouraged to attend, as it enables them to meet the aspirants and make informed decisions on who should become their next leaders.
