The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council (JCC), Edo State, is set to hold a groundbreaking 1,000-student march with the theme “Marching for the Survival of Students in Edo State.”
The event is scheduled to take place on Friday, 23rd August 2024, at the Pedestrian Bridge, Main Gate, Ugbowo Campus, University of Benin, Benin City. The event aims to awaken and foster unionism and activism among students in Edo State, with other side attractions such as school fee payments by the NANS Chairman, Edo State Chapter, ambassadorial roles to NANS Edo State Chapter, and much more.
This historic event aims to achieve the following objectives:
– Inclusion of students in governance
– Saying no to electioneering violence
– Advocating for student grants instead of loans
– An end to incessant school fee hikes
– An end to the hike in electricity tariffs in Nigerian institutions
This event will be one that will be remembered for many years to come, as it will lay a solid foundation for the future of Nigerian students.
