The Education Student Association of Nigeria (ESAN) Conference 2023, organized by the ESAN Rehoboth Executives under the esteemed leadership of Comrade Eriamatoe Kelly, President of ESAN, University of Benin, (UNIBEN) proved to be a resounding success. The conference, held to equip students and teachers in Digital Pedagogy for the 21st Century, achieved its objectives with great success.



On Saturday, 29th July 2023, the JUPEB Hall, UNIBEN witnessed the convergence of distinguished guests, including the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Heads of Department, lecturers, and education students from Mosogar Campus (Delta State), Asaba Campus (Delta State), Ugbowo Campus, and Ekehuan Campus UNIBEN (Edo State).

The conference kicked off with an opening prayer by the ESAN Vice President, UNIBEN, followed by the rendition of the National/UNIBEN Anthem. The President, Comrade Eriamatoe Kelly then delivered his opening address, warmly welcoming everyone to the 2023 ESAN conference.

Themed “Digital Pedagogy: Equipping Students and Teachers for the 21st Century,” the 2023 ESAN conference featured seasoned speakers and resource persons from diverse disciplines. Their insightful presentations shed light on the positive impact of technology, effective technology utilisation, the significance of becoming tech-savvy, and the art of balancing academics, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

The conference also provided valuable training opportunities, including Job fair sessions, Jobberman soft skills training, and Google Digital Training. A eye-opening interview session enlightened students and soon-to-be teachers on Digital Pedagogy, motivating them to harness their full potential as students and venture into entrepreneurship while fostering leadership qualities to nurture fruitful relationships.

The event saw a vibrant Talent Exhibition with awe-inspiring performances such as spoken words and short playlets. Adding excitement, a raffle draw took place, and distinguished guests were honoured with well-deserved awards.

In his closing remarks, President Comrade Eriamatoe Kelly expressed his delight at the resounding success of the event. He emphasized that the primary goal of the conference was to instill valuable values in the students. Despite challenges, the President ensured the conference fee remained affordable for all attendees, highlighting his commitment to empowering the student community. A heartfelt vote of thanks was extended to everyone present, and the conference concluded with group photographs, capturing the smiles and shared memories of the day.

The 2023 ESAN conference undoubtedly left a lasting impact on its participants, setting the stage for a brighter future where education and technology converge to unlock unprecedented opportunities.
