Oyewola Adeyeye is said to have died at the age of 63 following a brief illness. His death was confirmed by Olanike Adegoke the chief registrar of Ekiti state, that he died in the Early hours of November 5th, 2024.
He was born in Araomi Ugbesi, Ekiti East local government area; he was called to the Nigeria Bar in 1986 and was appointed chief judge of Ekiti in October 2021. a leadership position which he held before he passed away.
In a statement released by Michael Oba, the judiciary public relations officer, Adegoke paid tribute to the late chief judge; he described him as “a well-respected jurist who dedicated his life to upholding the principle of fairness, equality, and justice.
Adegoke asserted that the contributions of the late chief judge to the judiciary and Ekiti state, the deceased. As a whole are quantifiable, and his legacy will always be remembered.
Following the passing of Adeyeye, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has appointed Justice Lekan Adekanye Ogunmiye as the acting chief judge of Ekiti state; the appointment of Justice Ogunmoye took effect on 5th November 2024.
He was born on 6th November 1963, he was called to the Nigeria Bar in 1987 and was appointed a judge on April 2010.
