The Association of Campus Journalists at the University of Benin held its election on the evening of Thursday, September 14, 2023. CJ Gift Ukadikebuazua, the chairman of the electoral committee, informed all members of a last minute interchange of candidacy positions, specifically the welfare and secretary general positions. The candidates provided detailed responses to questions posed by the outgoing Secretary General, CJ Jeremiah.
In the one-hour long meeting, the approved candidates were sworn in as the new executive team of the Association of Campus Journalists at the University of Benin, following the procedures outlined in Schedule II of the Association’s constitution. CJ Odabi Collins, who retained his position as president, delivered a speech reassuring members of the commitment to rectifying past mistakes and providing inclusive leadership for a better future for the association.
The chairman introduced the newly inaugurated executive members to all association members as the meeting concluded.
