The University of Benin and the Obafemi Awolowo University engaged in a competitive football match on Tuesday 15th of October, 2024.
The game started at exactly 1:54 pm. The Obafemi Awolowo University took an initial lead in the first half against the University of Benin and scored a goal. Due to the goal, the game then stood at 1:0 exactly 2:04 pm. Fifteen minutes later, 2:19 pm to be precise. OAU scored again, increasing the tension between the students and players of the University of Benin.
At about 2:21, Uniben loses a chance to get back in the game against its opponent. At 2:35 pm again, there is a repetition of the same mistake. This aroused anger among the audience supporting UNIBEN, as they discussed the incompetency of some of the players. The first half ended at 2:44 pm.
The second half started at 3:03 pm, and UNIBEN scored a goal at 3:15 pm, minimizing the gap. Three minutes after the goal, the OAU retaliated with another goal at 3:18 pm.
After the goals, the two teams tried as much as they could to earn themselves more goals but it didn’t happen. This continued with each attempt failing until the match ended.
The match ended at 3:53 pm. OAU took the lead, winning 3-1. As a reward for their successful outcome, OAU received a cash prize of one hundred thousand naira from Moniepont Microfinance Bank.
