After the incident that occured on the 3rd of February at the University Of Benin involving the clash between the students of University of Benin and some Nigerian Soldiers leading an uproar in the school premises and the shutdown of the university’s main entrance.
It became of great concern to the university’s Vice Chancellor Mrs Lillian Salami and the school management and have held series of considerable meetings to address the situation as it is and are currently running an investigation to make amends, clear the damages and reach an agreement.The Vice Chancellor advices the students to be disciplined and to do well and focus more on their studies as the school management are making progress in addressing the issue and reach a term of agreement.
The Vice Chancellor expresses her deepest gratitude to the Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, The Former Inspector- General of Police, Dr Solomon Arase, the State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dankwara and his personnel, Director of DSS, Clara Olika and personnel, General B. N. Salami, as well as other distinguish persons of goodwill for their sincere concern since the inapt incident.
