The University of Benin has officially launched the African Institute of Management and Leadership (AFRIMAL) with an inaugural training programme designed to run for two weeks.

This initiative aims to equip participants with essential leadership and management skills to navigate the complexities of today’s business environment.

In a statement released earlier today by the university’s Public Relations and Protocol Unit, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Christopher Osubor, representing the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN, emphasised the significance of the programme. He highlighted AFRIMAL’s role in providing strategic tools to enhance leadership effectiveness and promote good governance across various sectors.

With a strong focus on capacity building, the programme is tailored to empower leaders with the skills necessary to drive sustainable growth and organisational excellence. The Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence that AFRIMAL would make a meaningful impact on manpower development, aligning with the university’s broader vision and mission.

Speaking at the launch, the Acting Director of AFRIMAL, Dr Omon Dania, commended the university’s management for spearheading this initiative. He described the programme as a timely response to the leadership challenges facing Nigeria and a valuable step towards fostering transformational leadership.
