The University of Benin, Department of Estate Management, is in mourning following the painful loss of Omorodion Uyioghosa Raphael, one of its students.
In an official condolence message released on Saturday, August 9th, 2025, the Estate Management Students Association (EMSA) Eminent Executive Council described Raphael’s death as a “heartbreaking loss” for the faculty, department, and the entire University of Benin community.
Omorodion Raphael was a 200-level student of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Department of Estate Management. “He was not just a student, but a friend, coursemate, brother, and family to the Faculty of Management Sciences. His absence will be deeply felt,” the statement read.
In honour of the late Raphael, the Department of Estate Management (EMSA) is calling on the entire faculty and interested students of UNIBEN to join in paying their final respects, standing together as one family in this time of grief.
The procession walk in honour of the late Raphael is scheduled to take place on Monday, August 11th, 2025, at noon, beginning at the Faculty of Environmental Science building. Dress code: all black.
