The University of Benin’s Senate has officially ratified the results for the 2021/2022 academic session, revealing that four graduates from the Department of Political Science attained First-Class Honours.
On Thursday, December 21, 2023, the University of Benin’s Senate approved the final results for the 2021/2022 academic session of the Department of Political Science. Among the graduating set, four students achieved First-Class Honours, while seventy-three students graduated with Second-Class Honours (Upper Division), fifty-two students with Second-Class Honours (Lower Division), and twenty students are yet to receive certification due to outstanding school charges and refer cases.
The distinguished top achievers are Ibrahim Semiu Oluwatobi, who emerged as the department’s best graduating student. Kenneth Peter, Goodness Ogiadomeh, and Osaivbie Ibizugbe are the other three first-class graduates of the department. Ibrahim Semiu Oluwatobi, the highest achiever, previously served as the Speaker of the parliamentary arm of the National Association of Political Science Students (NAPSS), University of Benin Chapter. Kenneth Peter held the role of class representative and served as a member of the 36th assembly of the Students Union parliament. Goodness Ogiadomeh is an entrepreneur and the founder of the Nessie Cakes brand. Osaivbie Ibizugbe was once the President of the National Association of Political Science Students (NAPSS), University of Benin Chapter.
This graduating class, known as “Class Erudite,” made history by producing four First-Class Honours graduates, marking a milestone in the Department of Political Science at the University of Benin. The graduating set also boasts seventy-three graduates with Second-Class Honours (Upper Division) and fifty-two with Second-Class Honours (Lower Division), without any reported Third-Class Honours or pass grades, which is believed to be the first of its kind in the Department of Political Science at the University of Benin.
