The University of Lagos’ best graduating student, Samuel Badekale, has secured a fully funded scholarship to study in Europe.
Samuel Badekale, who graduated with a Bachelor of science degree from the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Science, who was recognised as the overall best graduating student at the 55th convocation ceremony among 16,409 graduates with a perfect 5.0 CGPA, took to the social media platform to announce his approval to further his studies abroad with a fully funded scholarship.
According to him, “2025 has been one of the most amazing years to have encountered.” He went on to review he was selected as the only Nigerian and West African for the “Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters in Bio-membranes”,a programme which involves studying across three world-class universities in France, Italy and Germany, which he will be studying in over the next two years. He will also be exploring three advanced fields: Membrane Biology, Neuroscience and Experimental Medicine.
Reflecting on his journey, Badekale recalls his early days as a young boy in Mushin with big dreams, making a positive impact on the world, which he sees as becoming a reality.
He concludes by affirming “with God, every dream is achievable, even those that seem impossible.”
Samuel’s testimonials remain an inspirational story to Nigerians struggling to make it and who feel their dreams cannot be achieved. Like Samuel said, “embrace God, for one day, you will shine.”
