Following the sad loss of Professor Emeritus Osayuki Godwin Oshodin, the current management of the Unuversity of Benin has called of Members of staff and Alumni of the institution to pay tributes to the late Hero.

Professor Emeritus Osayuki Godwin Oshodin, who was the first Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin died in the early hours of Sunday May 29, 2022 in Benin City, Edo State after a brief illness, at the age of 71.

The notice of compendium of tributes was made available to ACJ_UNIBEN in a memo released by the management of the school on Thursday, June 9, 2022. It reads:

“In celebration of the worthy life of the first Indigenous Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Late Professor Emeritus Osayuki Godwin Oshodin, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lilian Salami, is initiating ‘A Compendium of Tributes’ to honour the memories of a life spent in the service of humanity.

“This initiative is to keep alive the pleasant memories of a generous man, a change maker and an icon of the University and of the Benin Kingdom.

“Members of staff and Alumni of the University are by this memo encouraged to send their tributes to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor via oshodin.tribute@uniben.edu or 08128180042 (via WhatsApp) on or before the 17th of June, 2022. The compendium will be published and made available to the public.
