The Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Edoba B. Omoregie, officially welcomed staff and students to the 2024/2025 academic session urging them to remain focused and committed to our shared vision and goal of sustaining a world-class, student-centered university that serves as a source of pride to all.
In a statement released on behalf of the university management, Prof Edoba B.Omoregie acknowledges the enormous sacrifices by staff and students of the university, he commended both the staff and students for ensuring a seamless and successful completion of the 2023/2024 academic session.
He stated that students should be mindful of the university’s zero tolerance of social vices, that are capable of impeding individual and collective development.
He highlighted the university’s 5-point agenda and encouraged the univerisity community to familiarise themselves with it as they are the hallmarks of the university administration’s governance.
The five points agenda are as follows:
• Strengthening degree programs in sync with emerging national and global trend
• Positioning the university as an innovative capacity-building and skills-acquisition hub across vocations, disciplines, and professions.
• Paying more attention to Staff and Student’s welfare.
• Enhancing the university infrastructure, with a special focus on multiple electricity access, functional internet service, conducive hostel, and office facilities, as well as friendly environmental initiatives.
• Lastly, promoting harmonious relationships with staff and student unions and the immediate neighboring communities.
He concluded his statement by sending his best wishes to the Staff and Students of the university for a peaceful and successful academic session.
