In the just concluded National Association of Nigerian Students elections, the Vice President of the Students’ Union Government, University of Benin, Vanessa Egbeahie, has emerged as the Vice President (Inter-campus affairs).

The Vice president reportedly ran unopposed for the NANS Executive office in the election which was held on Saturday, September 3, 2022.

Officials elected into the various offices are as follows;

Usman Umar Barambu – President

Akinteye Babatunde – Vice President (External Affairs)

Ekundina Elvis – Deputy Senate President

Ezenagu Victor – Vice President (National Affairs)

Saad Baki – Clerk

Suleiman Sarki – VP (Special Duties)

Usman Kankia – Secretary General

Giwa Temitope – Public Relations Officer

Chinyelu Okolie – Treasurer

Vanessa Egbeahie – Vice President (Inter-campus Affairs).

The Students’ Union Government of the University of Benin has congratulated Comr. Vanessa, describing the victory as a rare feat.

“It is a towering achievement for the Vice President of the Students’ Union Government, Comr. Vanessa Egbeahie as she emerges as the pioneer Vice President (Inter-campus affairs) of the prestigious National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) at the just concluded NANS National Convention in Abuja,” a statement released by the New Dawn Excos read.

“On behalf of the 77,000+1 University of Benin students whom you have duly represented and served, we congratulate you on this rare feat and for the honour you have brought to us. It is worthy to acknowledge that this is a win for the University of Benin students’ community as well as the University herself at large.”

Praising Miss Egbeahie, the statement read, “The Vice President, Comr. Vanessa Egbeahie has proven to be a source of inspiration to all students, bearing the testament that all dreams are valid and that no mission is unachievable.

“Conclusively, we hope that she continues to represent the University and the Union well in her new capacity as NANS Vice President, and ultimately give her all to the service of Nigerian Students.”
