The University of Benin Electoral Commission has officially released voting guidelines for eligible students, ahead of the SUG election set to hold tomorrow, the 24th July 2025.

According to a memo signed by the Electoral Secretary, Emakhu Daniel, voting will commence at exactly 11:00 a.m. and end by 12 noon, on Thursday, 24th July 2025, tomorrow. The voting process will be conducted online, and students are expected to follow a detailed accreditation and voting procedure.
To vote, students must visit https://waeup.uniben.edu/ and log in to their individual student kofa pages. They must ensure that their Kofa page displays the SU Election Password field as well as their Uniben institutional email. After that, they are to click on the Kofa Base Data, to retrieve both their email and voting password.
Next, students are to proceed to https://votingportal.uniben.edu/auto/index.html. On the login, they are to use their Uniben email address as their username and their voting password gotten from their Base Data Kofa page as their password to log in.
After filling out their username and password, Candidates are listed according to the positions being contested. The next step is to select the candidate of your choice, as a student by selecting yes to vote for any of the aspiring candidates. Scrolling down, students are to vote for other candidates until they finish voting for all the positions. It should be noted that voting twice for a candidate isn’t allowed.
Students must bear in mind that they must not log out until their voting is complete. Also, giving out their kofa page credentials to anyone is not advisable. Lastly, once logged out, students can’t re-enter the voting site.
The electoral commission emphasized fairness, urging all students to vote once for each position and make sure to complete all selection before submitting.
