UNIBEN Student Escapes Being Raped On Her Way To Night Class

By The pundit

A 200-level student of the department of English and Literature Education, University of Benin, simply identified as Abumerhe Success, escaped a rape attempt at the University of Benin on Friday night at 8:30pm.

Success, who shared the encounter with our correspondent said she was robbed and almost raped at June 12 axis. The victim reportedly said she was stopped by two guys who led her to a secluded area where they collected her phone and valuables. She, very scared, ran away while the two robbers were distracted with arguing over who would rape her first.

A good Samaritan who met her after the incident, helped her to get to the Faculty of Education Security office where she explained the situation to the security men there. They reportedly stated that June 12 was their jurisdiction. That begs the question of why they weren’t at their duty post at the time of the incident. Who knows? Success might not have had such experience and every other victim of the culprits, which ACJ UNIBEN is yet to learn about, might have had a safe evening in the University of Benin premises.

More reports will be delivered as details unfold.
