University of Benin Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) and Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions (NASU) have joined the one day protest decided by the joint action committee (JAC) of both unions.

Members of the duo union in Uniben were admonished to join in the protest on Tuesday, July 9,2024. This was made known in a circular co-signed by the secretaries of both unions of the institution.

Union members were encouraged to come out en-mass by 8am at the main gate, Ugbowo Campus to express their grievances over withheld salaries.

Recall that the decision to embark on a one day protest was reached by the JAC of both unions after the government failure to resolve the issues with the unions.

While another protest have been slated for July 18,2024, both unions have decided they will go on strike if the Federal Government pay deaf ears to their plight.
