UNIBEN Set to Host 335th Inaugural Lecture on Microbial Threats

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is set to hold its 335th Inaugural Lecture Series on Thursday, 6th March 2025, with a focus on the dangers posed by microscopic organisms.

The lecture, titled “Minute, Prokaryotic, Serial Assaulters of Man on the Prowl: Be on Your Guard,” will be delivered by Professor (Mrs.) Onaiwu Idahosa Enabulele, a Professor of Microbiology at the institution. The speaker holds a Ph.D. in Pathogenic Microbiology (UNIBEN), a Master’s degree in Microbiology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology (UNIBEN). She is also a member of the Nigerian Society of Microbiology (NSM) and the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES).

The event will take place at the Akin Deko Main Auditorium at 4:00 PM and will be chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Edoba B. Omoregie, SAN. The lecture is expected to provide critical insights into microbial threats and emphasize the need for vigilance in combating them.

The Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the Senate, staff, and students, extends a cordial invitation to members of the UNIBEN community and the general public to attend this important academic event.
