On Saturday, April 12, 2025, the Rotaract Club at the University of Benin organized a “Clean Up Gutter Project” to enhance the cleanliness of the university environment and preserve its beauty. The club reached out to enthusiastic individuals, inviting them to join the clean-up effort, and promised a satisfying reward with the phrase, “After work, man go chop.” The event began at the Basement at 7:00 AM and extended to locations such as the Anatomy Backgate and NDDC.

In an interview with ACJ UNIBEN, the president of the Rotaract Club UNIBEN, Rtr. Woghiren Osama Joel shared that this was not the first time they had organized a project like this. He noted the persistent issue of blocked gutters on campus, which motivated the club to take on this initiative as part of their commitment to community service. He also mentioned that they collaborated with associations like AIESEC and other sister organisations to ensure the project’s success.

Through this initiative, the Rotaract Club Uniben has once again demonstrated its dedication to the development of the university.
