The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced the rescheduling of all examinations that were originally planned for Wednesday, 6th September 2023. This decision comes in response to a notice issued by the local branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) indicating their participation in the ongoing Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) warning strike.
The notice, addressed specifically to the Provost, Deans, and Directors, carries the directive for the rescheduling of examinations in light of ASUU’s involvement in the industrial action. This decision reflects a change from the university’s earlier stance, which was taken before ASUU had officially declared its position regarding the NLC warning strike.
UNIBEN’s management has expressed its gratitude towards the dedication and hard work of all staff members during this academic session. The university recognises the need to accommodate the changing circumstances brought about by the ASUU’s participation in the ongoing industrial action and is committed to ensuring a smooth session transition for both students and staff members.
The rescheduled dates for the affected examinations will be communicated by the university’s administration, and students are advised to stay updated with their various Faculty Exam officers for further information.
