By O.V.Collins

The Management of the University of Benin has strongly kicked against the act of using money to buy and secure admission slots into the institution, stating that such is condemnable and illegal.

It was reported that the management received intel on parents and other persons paying money to racketeers in other to illegally secure admission of their wards into the University of Benin. The Management warns admission racketeers to stop their condemnable action while threatening that appropriate sanctions will be delivered when anyone is caught.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the University P.R.O, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, the Management reiterated that “no money is charged for admission, as candidates are admitted on merit, based on the approved cut-off mark and quota per course/programme.”

“While calling on parents and other persons who have been scammed by the racketeers to report such incidents, with evidence, Management further warns that candidates who subscribe to the demands by extortionists for admission, risk forfeiture of such admissions when discovered,” the statement read in part.
