The management of the University of Benin has declared Monday, 16th September 2024, a public holiday to mark this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration. The occasion commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammed, which falls on Sunday, 15th September 2024.
The university will observe the holiday as required. However, staff members on essential duty are expected to report for work as directed by their respective heads of departments or units.
Members of the university community, particularly Muslim faithful, are encouraged to embrace the spirit of love, patience, and tolerance, in line with the teachings of the Holy Prophet.
