The Management of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced an extension of the deadline for candidates offered provisional admission for the 2025/2026 academic session to complete their acceptance process.

According to a statement issued on Sunday, November 9th, 2025, the previous deadline of November 10th, 2025, has been moved to November 17th, 2025.

The University urged all newly admitted students to log onto the institution’s official portal, portal.uniben.edu, promptly to finalise their acceptance and clearance procedures.

The candidates are required to follow the processes which include: logging in using their JAMB Registration Number and password, providing a valid email address to receive their student ID and a new password, and using the new credentials to access the student portal. Then begin the clearance process under the Academics menu, proceed to pay the acceptance fee via the Bank Transfer Option on REMITA, as debit card payments are currently unavailable. After that, log out and log back in to refresh payment status before proceeding to complete and submit the clearance form.
The university warns that failure to meet the new deadline may affect admission status.
