According to a memo, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Edoba Omoregie, has approved the appointment of Professor Sylvester Ewansiha, a professor of agriculture, as the Desk Officer for Raw Materials Research and Development Commercialisation Value-Chain. The appointment was made on April 11, 2025.
This appointment aligns with the requirements for the collaboration between the university and the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology. The goals of this partnership include facilitating raw materials value-chain development for the country’s manufacturing sector, as well as promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and stronger cooperation between academia and industry.
These objectives form part of the Vice Chancellor’s five-point agenda, and the appointment is with immediate effect.
