The University of Benin has appointed Ms Bimpe Omoyiwola as its 10th substantive Registrar.
Her appointment was approved by the institution’s Governing Council, with her tenure set to commence on April 1, 2026. She succeeds Mr Ademola Bobola, whose five-year term concludes on March 31, 2026.
Ms Omoyiwola hails from Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State. She holds a Master’s degree in International History and Diplomacy from the University of Benin, alongside other postgraduate diplomas.
Prior to her appointment, she served as Director (Registry) at the College of Postgraduate Studies of the university, where she played a key administrative role.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Management of Nigeria, Ms Omoyiwola brings extensive experience in university administration to her new position.
According to a statement signed by the institution’s Deputy Registrar/PRO, Dr Benedicta Ehanire, the new Registrar is expected to formally assume office on the scheduled date.
