The University of Benin (UNIBEN) on Monday, 20th October 2025, officially announced the introduction of several new academic programmes set to commence in the 2025/2026 academic session.
This development follows the successful resource verification exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
In an official statement signed by Professor Joseph Osemwenkhae, Director of Academic Planning, the University disclosed that a total of fifteen new programmes have been approved for prospective students and the general public.
The newly introduced programmes include:
B.Sc. Data Science
Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT)
B.Sc. Broadcasting
B.Sc. Advertising
B.Sc. Peace and Conflict Resolution
B.Sc. Film and Multimedia Studies
B.Sc. Information and Communication Technology
B.Sc. Software Engineering
B.Sc. Information Technology
B.Sc. Public Relations
B.Sc. Cyber Security
B.Sc. Development Studies
B.Sc. Public Health
B.Agric. (Agricultural Economics)
B.Agric. (Agricultural Extension and Rural Development)
