UNIBEN: ALUMNI OF ECONOMICS DONATE WORKSTATION AND SOLAR SYSTEM TO HEIGHTEN TEACHING AND LEARNING

BY OGIDI CHIDINMA FAVOUR.

In an exceptional show of dedication to academic excellence, the alumni body of the Economic Department, Faculty of Social Science, University of Benin, has made a donation of a workstation to enhance teaching and learning in the department.

As a contribution to this cause, the Alumni Class of 2003 installed a solar system in the Econometric Laboratory to ensure a stable power supply for research and data analysis. Likewise, the Alumni Class of 1998 made a provision of a Solar Power System for the Departmental Offices, boosting the operational efficiency within the department.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN, came to notice these contributions after being officially informed by the Acting Head of the Department, HOD, Dr. N.I. Arodoye. In acknowledgment, the VC applauded the donors for their allegiance to the university’s growth, portraying them as “partners in progress”. He commended the positive impact of their support on the educational setting and also encouraged other alumni to contribute and take part in the academic advancement, and infrastructural development of the University of Benin(UNIBEN).

This brings attention to the significance of alumni participation in higher education institutions, showcasing how joint efforts lead to long-term improvements in learning environments.
