The highly anticipated University of Benin Inter-Faculty Football Competition, popularly known as UNIBEN 5-Aside, has been deferred owing to prevailing security challenges.
Originally slated for Friday, 19th January 2024, the competition has been rescheduled and is now set to unfold on 26th January 2024.
In a memo issued on Tuesday, 16th January 2024, the Public Relations Officer of the Students’ Union, Comr. Osadolor Divine Osarumen, underscored that the decision to postpone was prompted by ongoing security issues both within the university premises and the city of Benin. He earnestly appeals to the University of Benin’s student body for understanding, urging them to wholeheartedly participate in the rescheduled competition.
