The University of Benin has hereby announced a restructuring of its General Studies (GST) course for the 2024/2025 academic session.
This adjustment is detailed in a memorandum from the General Studies Department, following the GST Academic Board of Studies meeting held on January 15,2025.
Under the new adjustment, the students in the 100 level (first semester)will offer:
GST 111-Communication in English, and
GST 112- Nigeria People and Culture
While 200-level students will be offered the following GST course in their first semester.
GST 211-Philosophy, Logic, and Human Existence And
GST 312-peace Studies & Conflict Resolution (previously offered at 300-level).
The University of Benin has made this change to balance course distribution and also reduce the academic burden on its students. Departments are strictly required to adjust to the new arrangement.
The new effect is required to take effect immediately.
