The 11th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN, has his administration fully constituted with the election of three Deputy Vice-Chancellors by the University’s Senate. This election was chaired for the first time by Professor Omoregie.
The newly elected Deputy Vice-Chancellors are from various faculties, ranging from Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) to the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Arts.
The Vice-Chancellors are: Professor Christopher Osubor, a Professor of Biochemistry, who is now DVC, Administration; secondly, Professor Igbineweka of the Department of Educational Planning and Administration, now the DVC, Academics; and finally, Professor Buniyamin Ayinde, who was a Deputy Vice-Chancellor in the previous administration, retains the portfolio of DVC, Ekehuan Campus.
The newly elected Deputy Vice-Chancellors are expected to further strengthen and energise the Edoba Omoregie administration. This new administration has witnessed no dull moment since its inception.
