The students of the University of Benin have come out in their numbers again as the protest takes on a new dimension. Protesters have been spotted at different faculties, chasing students out of lecture theatres and disrupting academic activities with bottles and other dangerous items. Students who came for lectures had no choice but to run for their lives.

There is a clarion call for all students and staff to participate in the peaceful protest, as it is meant to benefit every member of the institution. Students, after the protest on Wednesday,24 July, 2024, became enraged when the school management failed to provide electricity and pumped dirty water.
