The National Association of University Students (NAUS), Edo State, recently conducted and concluded its elections on 1st November 2024.
Prior to the election, some aspirants were not cleared due to various screening regulations. However, after an appeal process, all previously uncleared candidates were eventually cleared. The election, conducted by delegates, reflected the voters’ choices.
Below are the highlights of the election and the votes secured by the candidates:
– Ogana Praise Chukwudima (AAU, Ekpoma) received the majority of delegate votes, surpassing fellow aspirant Enoghama Emmanuel (AAU), securing his position as the NAUS Chairman-elect.
– Oboshior Richard (AAU, Ekpoma) was elected as NAUS Secretary General with 10 out of 12 delegate votes.
Other positions and results were as follows:
– Joel Isaac Idahor (UNIBEN) as NAUS Deputy Chairman – 9 out of 12 delegate votes.
– Ehigie Nosakhare Samuel (UNIBEN) as NAUS Deputy Secretary General.
– Bazuaye Aisosa (UNIBEN) as NAUS Treasurer – Unopposed.
– Ehimen Pascal (Mudiame University) as Financial Secretary – Unopposed.
– Woghiren Osama Joel (UNIBEN) as Publicity Secretary.
– Oghenekohwo Charity (UNIBEN) as NAUS Director of Sports & Socials – Unopposed.
– Ojo Ayomide (UNIBEN) as NAUS Director of Gender & Campus Affairs.
– Eichie Darlington (NOUN) as Director of Transport & Special Duties – Unopposed.
– Destiny Akhere (Mudiame University) as Director of Digital Economy, Science & Technology – Unopposed.
– Vbenosawemwinghaye Daniel (NOUN) as NAUS Director of Exchange & External Affairs.
– Isibor Blessing (UNIBEN) as NAUS Director of Health – Unopposed.
