The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly detained the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Atiku Isah, amid ongoing controversy surrounding his allegations against Seyi Tinubu.
According to Sahara Reporters, who confirmed the development via their official X account (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, 7 May 2025 . Isah was allegedly detained while receiving treatment in hospital. This development follows his recent claims that Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, attempted to bribe him with ₦100 million to support the current administration.
Isah stated that upon rejecting the offer, he was abducted, beaten, and stripped naked by individuals allegedly linked to Seyi Tinubu. He further alleged that a video of the assault was recorded and used to coerce him into making a false resignation statement, which he eventually delivered under duress.
Seyi Tinubu has, however, categorically denied the allegations, describing them as entirely false and politically motivated.
Despite the seriousness of the claims, there has been no official investigation or public clarification from relevant authorities. The alleged re-arrest of Isah by the DSS—reportedly aimed at compelling him to retract his statement—has raised additional concerns about the abuse of power and the undermining of the rule of law in a democratic society.
