Following the recent announcement by the ministry of sports and youth development, disclosing readiness to hold already proposed national sports festival, there are speculations that there might be another long break for students of University of Benin.

Honorable minister, Sunday Dare who spoke to press men after a joint meeting emphasized that the three – times postponed sports festival would likely hold on April.

Dare hinted the commitment of the ministry to work with management of University of Benin in a bid to secure space and facilities for the festival.

However, students have expressed mixed feeling over the new date while describing it as another delay of academic activities after spending nearly one year at home.

Nevertheless, the new date for the national sports remains tentative pending acceptance by the institution’s management.
